RAČICE CASTLE DURING RENOVATION
Račice Castle is one of the most prominent historic landmarks of the Vyškov region. The main palace is currently undergoing renovation, an important stage in the further development of the castle grounds.
During this stage, the interiors of the main palace are not open to the public and all tour routes are temporarily closed. This page therefore currently serves mainly as up-to-date information for visitors planning a trip to the grounds.
Even so, you can still come for a trip, relaxation, good food or a stay in a castle setting. The operating parts of the grounds, especially the Outer Bailey and Lower Castle, remain available to visitors.
THE GROUNDS REMAIN OPEN
Although guided tours of the main palace are not currently taking place, a visit to Račice Castle is still worthwhile. Services remain in operation, allowing you to combine your visit with relaxation, gastronomy, accommodation or an event in a castle setting.
Guests can use accommodation in the Outer Bailey and Lower Castle, visit EFI Hostinec Konírna, enjoy lunch or drinks, use the wellness facilities or book the Konírna Hall for private and corporate events.

EFI HOSTINEC KONÍRNA IN THE OUTER BAILEY
The EFI Hostinec Konírna restaurant is part of the Outer Bailey and offers Czech cuisine, seasonal specials, lunch menus, breakfasts for accommodated guests and drinks from the bar menu.
The restaurant is located directly within the Račice Castle grounds and offers indoor seating as well as the option to use outdoor areas depending on the current season and operation.
You can therefore combine your visit to the grounds with lunch, a relaxing stop after a trip or a stay in the Outer Bailey or Lower Castle.
ACCOMMODATION IN THE OUTER BAILEY
In the Outer Bailey, you will find rooms and apartments in various categories, suitable for shorter stays, weekend relaxation and visits to the surrounding Vyškov region and Drahany Highlands.
The Outer Bailey building also includes the multifunctional Konírna Hall and the castle restaurant EFI Hostinec Konírna with a terrace and seating area.
The Outer Bailey thus combines accommodation, gastronomy and facilities for social, family and corporate events directly within the castle grounds.
ACCOMMODATION IN THE LOWER CASTLE
The Lower Castle was created by renovating the former barn and gamekeeper’s lodge buildings. It offers stylishly furnished apartments and studios with a kitchenette, TV, Wi-Fi and air conditioning.
Guests can also use a common room with seating by the fireplace, a self-service bar and a draught beer system. The Lower Castle is therefore suitable for independent stays, family visits and smaller groups.
Thanks to its location directly within the Račice Castle grounds, your stay can be combined with a visit to EFI Hostinec Konírna, relaxation in the wellness area or trips around the surrounding area.
WELLNESS IN THE LOWER CASTLE
Relax your body and mind in the wellness area in the Lower Castle of Račice Castle. The wellness facilities offer a space for relaxation after a trip, during a weekend stay or while visiting the castle grounds.
Guests can use the relaxation area, Finnish sauna and heated outdoor pool with terraces. The wellness area is suitable for quiet moments for two, time with friends or as an addition to a stay in the Lower Castle or Outer Bailey.

KONÍRNA HALL FOR EVENTS
The multifunctional Konírna Hall is located in the Outer Bailey and can be used for weddings, family gatherings, corporate parties, training sessions and other social events.
The hall is adjacent to EFI Hostinec Konírna, making it possible to connect your event with restaurant facilities, accommodation on site and outdoor areas depending on the nature of the event.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CASTLE
The history of Račice Castle dates back to the Middle Ages. Over the centuries, the original castle was transformed into a Renaissance château and later also into a residential seat. In 1830, it was purchased by textile magnate Baron Jan Mundy.
In September 1938, the castle became the headquarters of the General Staff of the Czechoslovak Army. After the war, the building was gradually used by OP Prostějov, a primary school, a vocational school and a children’s home.
In 2017, the castle was purchased at auction by the Brno-based company e-Finance, a.s. The current renovation of the main palace is part of the gradual restoration of the grounds.

Although tours of the main palace are not currently taking place, Račice Castle remains a place for a trip, weekend stay, lunch, family gathering and relaxation in the wellness area.

WHERE TO GO NEARBY?
The castle grounds are a starting point for cycling trips and walks in the Drahany Highlands area and near the Moravian Karst.
During your stay on the grounds, you can set out, for example, along the Heart of South Moravia cycle route, visit the Velká dohoda nature area, Rakovec Valley or Vyškov with its Dinopark and zoo corner.
