We offer our guests accommodation in the Forecastle, where they can find both tourist-type accommodations as well as luxury rooms and apartments with terraces. In the Forecastle, we have built a multifunctional hall called "Konírna" (The Stables), which is a suitable venue for weddings, corporate parties, or training. The hall is adjacent to the EFI Pub Konírna and it's possible to use the adjacent terrace with seating or outdoor party tent for up to 50 people.
In the newly renovated Undercastle, we offer 11 stylishly furnished apartments for 2-4 people, a lounge with a tap and fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor pool with sun terraces. You can also rent the Undercastle as a whole facility with the appropriate facilities for gastronomy and relaxation.
In the main castle building, both castle tour routes are in operation all year round and our guides are already looking forward to you!
In the 15th century, the castle was rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau. In 1830, it was purchased by the textile magnate Baron Jan Mundy. His successor, Philip von Schöller, turned the chateau into a very tastefully equipped residence.
In September 1938, the chateau became the headquarters of the Czechoslovak Army General Staff. After the war, the building was successively used by OP Prostějov, a primary school, a vocational school, and a children's home.
In 2017, the castle was purchased at auction by the Brno-based company e-Finance, a.s.
In this year's season 2023, we offer our guests accommodation in the Forecastle, where they can find both tourist-type accommodations as well as luxury rooms and apartments with terraces, and newly in the renovated building of the former gamekeeper's house and barn, which we named Undercastle.
Parking is available in the car park, which is part of the complex. Bicycles and scooters can be stored in a lockable bike room.
In the first tour route "Piano Nobile", among other things, you can look forward to educational panels with visualizations of the castle, where you will see what the castle looked like in historical periods when the owners fundamentally changed its appearance. We also have an animated surprise for you.
The second tour route, "Castle Cellars and Economic Background of the Castle", introduces cellar spaces carved into the rock, the technology of historical heating of living rooms, and other interesting features.
The castle complex, whose history dates back to the 13th century, is an excellent starting point for cycling trips and hiking in the Drahanská vrchovina region, in close proximity to the Moravian Karst. During your stay at the Račice Castle area, you can explore the South Moravian Heart Cycle Path, visit the unique natural area of Velká dohoda, or explore the natural park with the educational trail of Rakovecké údolí. Just 10 km away, Vyškov with its Dinosaur Park and the zoo corner with Babiččin dvoreček is also a destination worth visiting that you shouldn't miss out on.
